Daily Instructions and Directions for Distance Learning

Student attendance is an essential part of their academic success, to ensure students are present, a Google Form will be sent out each morning via Remind101. (Please note that if you are not receiving Remind101 message you will need to update your phone number with the building principal or follow the directions on the Distance Learning page to sign up for messages)

The Google Form will require you to enter all of your students who are school aged and their current grade. Once you have entered that information you click submit and their attendance will be counted for that day. Each day a new link and form will be sent out via Remind101.

School Work:

We are adopting an asynchronous approach to learning, which means that students will work at their own pace and not all together as a class or at a specific class time. We realize that the COVID-19 outbreak has placed an extra burden on families and that many homes have different childcare arrangements. Students will have a reduced workload (not 7.5 hours on the computer). Work will be meaningful and elicit critical thinking, since students will have the time to dive deeper into material.

Students are expected to log into their Google Classrooms on a daily basis and check each course. Teachers are uploading recorded lessons, videos, and material to be completed and submitted on a daily basis. Students are not required to sign on at a specific time each day, but keep in mind some  assignments may only be active for that day, therefore it is essential they check daily.

The instructional material that will be available on the GoogleClassroom will be recorded lessons, videos, or simply written directions in order for the instruction to be available throughout the day. The teachers will only be available in a live format during their scheduled office hours, listed below. All staff will be available via email outside of the scheduled office hours to help answer any questions or concerns you have in regards to the GoogleClassroom or instruction.

Office  Hours:

This time is reserved for Student/Teacher interactions. Teachers, district-wide, will be available live during their office hours. This is a great time for students to check in and say hi as well as ask questions they may have with the assignments and lessons. This time is dedicated to teachers to meet and address student questions and hold virtual classroom meetings.
